Product Care

General Care Tips

To maximize the longevity of your jewelry, avoid contact with water, particularly swimming pools, as it can shorten the lifespan of the piece. If your jewelry does get wet, for example in the shower, simply pat it dry with a cloth to remove all moisture. Be cautious and limit exposure to perfumes, hair products, lotions, soaps, oils, and household chemicals. Always take off your jewelry when exercising or engaging in cleaning activities.

Sterling Silver

Clean your sterling silver pieces using a polishing cloth specifically made for sterling silver. Avoid exposure to chlorine water and abrasive paper products, which can scratch the silver. Store your silver items in a cool, dry place away from light and air to minimize tarnishing. For cleaning, we recommend a liquid jewelry cleaner made specifically for sterling silver. However, for pieces with stones, pearls, or crystals, stick to using the polishing cloth, as liquid cleaners may damage some types of stones.

Gold Plated Sterling Silver

Keep gold plated sterling silver separate from other jewelry to prevent scratches. Remove it before showering or cleaning and polish gently using a polishing cloth made for yellow gold.

Caring for Plated Jewelry

Plated jewelry requires special care. Scented products like perfumes, colognes, and lotions contain chemicals that can react with the plating, leading to discoloration or fading. Your body's chemistry and moisture levels can also affect plated items – a higher skin PH balance can accelerate wear.

Never wear plated jewelry during activities involving water, such as showering or at the pool/beach, as chlorine and salt water can damage the plating. When not wearing these items, store them in a dry place. To avoid scratches or wear, prevent friction or contact with hard surfaces.

If cleaning is necessary, use warm water with a mild, fragrance-free soap. Gently pat dry with a clean cotton or microfiber cloth. Avoid most commercial jewelry cleaners as they contain chemicals that can wear down the plating over time.

Following these guidelines will help maintain the beauty and longevity of your jewelry.
